Princess Charlotte goes to Church

When you are a royal baby, you get christened in grand style.

2 month old Princess Charlotte (fourth in line to the throne) was on Sunday the 5th of July 2015 christened at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge pushed the princess in a pram the Queen used for two of her own children.

Several thousand well-wishers lined the streets to greet the royals and catch a glimpse of the royal baby.

The royal couple had announced ahead of the christening that they had chosen five godparents for the princess that’s two less that her brother Prince George who turns two in July has.

Her big brother George’s excitement could be felt as he had to be held back by his father after making a dash towards the door a little too soon
The baptism was conducted privately by the Archbishop of Canterbury the Most Reverend Justin Welby.

Like her brother, Charlotte was christened in a rep ca of the lace and satin christening gown made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Victoria, the princess royal, in 1841.

The original was worn by all royal babies until the christening of Prince Edward's son James, Viscount Severn, in 2008.

Charlotte was christened using the ornate silver gilt Lily Font which is usually on show as part of the crown jewels at the Tower of London.

Hmmm…. levels
